After looking at a few different trends I came across the Turtleneck trend which personally I think gets over looked and people don't realise how much wearing a turtleneck jumper can change an outfit from wearing it under a jumper to create a more chic, grown up look or having it under a suit for a mature look whilst still looking edgy. One of the reasons why I like the Turtleneck trend so much is because it can be worn by both gender and on the catwalk you see both male and female collections using turtleneck to complete the outfit. Two of the main turtleneck types I've seen the most off are chunky knitted turtlenecks which gives more of a casual, playfulness vibe or there's the cotton turtleneck jumper which is more for creating a chic, sleek style look. This A/W I've seen so many designers use Turtleneck under dresses, coats, suits, cardigans, pretty much under anything you could think off or simply you can just wear a turtleneck jumper on it's own. Another thing I like about this trend is that it's really affordable and many high street stores have started selling all different types of turtleneck jumpers such as Topshop/Topman, Primark etc.

| Carolina Herrera uses two black turtle neck jumpers in her A/W 2013 collection to create more of a grown up vibe. I really like how she had just a plain black turtle neck jumper tucked into a bold skirt which just makes the outfit look chic and using the turtle neck jumper just makes the outfit look sleek and shows the main focus of the outfit is the skirt. |
